Key Responsibilities

You are responsible to ensure every single facet of all Verve cafes is absolutely crushing it, every single day. Excellence is our standard.

  • Embrace and champion the Verve culture of SERVICE, PRODUCT, ATMOSPHERE

  • Train and coach an outstanding team of retail managers

  • Support development of a world class training program

  • Develop area strategic plans; manage P&L and budgets

  • Manage all controls to ensure business integrity

  • Roll up your sleeves and take care of business whenever needed

Specific Duties

  • Roll out annual area strategic plans and budgets for each location

  • Hold weekly team meeting and ensure all stores/staff are meeting agreed upon objectives

  • Continually improve operational systems, processes and policies including management reporting, information flow, and organizational planning

  • Assess key business risks and immediately address them

  • Control and manage the level of in-store inventory, new products, visual merchandising and collateral materials

  • Ensure employee occupational health and safety

  • Build effective relationships with retail partners

  • Maintain superior standards in all areas of operational activity; drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of Store Managers

  • Execute management initiatives and constantly strategize for long-term operational excellence

  • Ensure employee engagement and satisfaction; monitor employee turnover

  • Enforce store controls and monitor cash handling

  • Deliver superior food programs

  • Facilitate orientation, key trainings and MIT programs

Requirements

  • Dynamic and outgoing personality

  • Sustained interest in personal growth and development

  • Passion for developing teams

  • Proven understanding of, and affinity for, the specialty coffee industry

  • At least 7 years in Cafe/Restaurant Operations Leadership

  • Superior analytical skills

  • Solid business and financial acumen

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding organizational, planning and time management talents

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of schedule

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
